Mimi's Biography

No matter what else Mimi is doing, she loves to cook and has used her skills to create bonds of friendship. She began cooking right after college, increasing her knowledge of foods and cooking techniques by reading cookbooks, subscribing to culinary magazines, and watching cooking shows. The greatest of her mentors was Julia Child, one of the earliest television chefs.

She began to seriously collect cookbooks soon after she married her husband, JB, the hobby quickly becoming addictive. With bookshelves sagging under the weight of nearly a thousand volumes, some of the lesser used titles were stored in a box in the garage. One box turned to two, then four, and on and on it went.

It includes her own personal recipes, cooking tips and web links plus our Recipe Request Forum if you need cooking advise. Several years later she helped create the RecipeCircus (http://recipecircus.com/) where people can create their own recipe web sites. There are now more than 325,000 recipes online.

Mimi decided to sell off the least used of these cookbooks by offering them on Ebay. When sales were going well, JB suggested she open a store specializing in this. At first, she resisted, but then she decided it was worth a try.
