<H2>History</H2>
<P>After more than a decade running one of the largest independent food and cooking web sites, Mimi?s Cyber Kitchen (<U><A href="http://www.cyber-kitchen.com/">http://www.cyber-kitchen.com/</A></U>) and one of the biggest collections of recipes on the internet (<U><A href="http://recipecircus.com/">http://recipecircus.com/</A></U>) with more than 325,000 recipes, we started selling cookbooks on eBay. The problem with pure online book selling is that there is no <B>serendipity factor</B>. When you are online you can't browse through shelves of books and see one that you weren't looking for yet can't live without. This means that there is no such thing as impulse buying on the Internet. </P>
<P>Cookbook Plus, LLC was founded in 2004 as our <I>brick and mortar</I> location for selling directly to the public. We had always wanted to offer cooking classes but our original location was too small. In April 2006 we moved to our current location in the historic Downtown Newhall district at the corner of San Fernando Rd and 8<SUP>th</SUP> St.</P>
<H3>Our Business</H3>
<P>We typify the way the Internet has changed business over the past several years. We combine our retail sales with our on-line sales. Our online sales go through well known sites like eBay, Amazon, Abebooks.com and Alibris.com along with our own web sites to form a viable business that can compete with Barnes and Noble, Borders and Amazon.com. In some respects the retail store also serves as a warehouse for our online sales
<H3>Our Facility</H3>
<P>Our new location is on a prime corner in Newhall and is loaded with books and kitchen gadgets. We have created a comfortable atmosphere where customers can browse our shelves or sit in our comfy chairs to look through their selections. Mimi and Barbara are always around to help customers find things, make suggestions and demonstrate our products. </P>
<H3>Management</H3>
<P>The organization is managed by Mimi and JB Hiller. Mimi is a well-known personality on the Internet, radio, and in cooking circles throughout the world. She is the driving force in our organization. Her bio is included in this media kit. JB is her husband the geek. Barbara Contreras is Mimi?s assistant and knows how to find everything in store.
<H3>Community Involvement</H3>We are active members of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce abd have participated in their annual Business Expo
<P>On moving to our new location we have joined the Old Town Newhall Business Association. We will be active in the City of Santa Clarita Newhall Revitalization Plan.
<P>We are supporters of the Santa Clarita Master Chorale and serve as a ticket selling location.
<P>We also are supporters of the Santa Clarita Circle of Hope. </P>
